Yeah, today's strip is going to be delayed. I hope I can get it finished over lunch, but it's iffy. I'm sure it'll be up at some point, though.

*F5*........*F5*........*F5*........*F5*........ WoHooo ;D Ha, I had forgotten about the whole Huskie shedding bit. I wonder what Bunker is going to look like when he wakes up? (Probably the same as last time.) I hope you make this into a short, it has lots of potential beyond one strip you did the last time you brought up that Huskie tidbit. It's great to see Sandusky happy and "helping" Bunker with his shedding "problem". Sierra just looks just perfect in the first frame.

OK, I was laughing so hard I was crying this morning. Good job Bunker. Don't try and argue this Scott, you'll loose. My parents and I had a similar debate where I pointed out all the reading material they had on the back of the toilet. It ended with me standing outside the bathroom with a stopwatch and keeping notes. They don't deny the truth anymore.

*Sigh* This is a conversation that I would have had repeatedly with Patch if he could have talked.
You could tell that he didn't like the taste of the grass and after he started throwing up you could tell by the whimpering that he felt even worse. Yet he continued to do it for several years until perhaps he put 2 and 2 together and figured it out.
For some reason I had a really weird Sandusky related dream last night. Basically it is a mix of Sandusky and "Over the Hedge". Some lady moves in and of course does everything she can to try and show that Sandusky is dangerous but it always backfires on her. She has the same voice as the lady from the movie, but for the life of me I can't remember what kind of voice Sandusky or Bunker had in the dream. Don't remember Sierra being in it.
Meh, the idea might be a little Cliché, but perhaps you could pull it off John sometime in the future.
She tries to video tape Sandusky tearing apart a baby doll, but he instead licks off the steak flavoring she covered it in and uses it as a teddy bear.
Tries finding a hole in the legal paperwork, but finds that it is airtight. This one would probably be rather boring, but I'm just listing off the ones I can remember.
Tries to break through the fence to show it's insecure and ends up hurting herself.
Manages to get Dickens in the enclosure. All Sandusky does is sit on him and take a nap. Dickens had the voice of Tim Curry, but I don't think it fits well.
There were quite a few more, but I just can't remember what they were.

My dog eats grass from time to time, but it seems to be primarily when he's feeling sick. I think it tends to help him "clean out his system". Most of the mountain lions I know actually enjoy the taste of grass - at least it seems that way. Some of them enjoy it more than others, but they all seem to like it on some level. I don't know if it acts as dental floss in getting rid of stuff stuck in their teeth, or if it's almost more of a catnip thing where they get some sort of a high off of it. Regardless, tearing off a handful of grass is usually an easy way to get them to come over and visit. I figure with Sandusky it's more of an instinctive thing. He really doesn't know why he's doing it; he just does it. It doesn't taste good, but it doesn't taste bad either. He also doesn't understand why anyone would question him about it.

I really don't remember if either of our cats ate grass, though I was 5 at the time so it's not very easy to remember some of those details anyway. I've gotten grass cuts plenty of times as a kid when playing in the long grass so I can attest for the stuff being abrasive, the floss theory is an interesting one. I figure with Sandusky it's more of an instinctive thing. He really doesn't know why he's doing it; he just does it. It doesn't taste good, but it doesn't taste bad either. He also doesn't understand why anyone would question him about it. Yea, instincts and habits are both hard to break. And that's one of the many reasons why to have a love pets-- trying to figure out what they do is actually quite the mystery, so you actually compel yourself to become educated about that particular behavior. OK, so why do dogs seem to always wrap themselves around a tree when tied up. And as for the grass eating part, I've actually read on a website or two that it might help aid with the wholeigestion thing as well. Cougars need their fiber too. That's what we were told as well, but he always seemed to feel worse after doing it. As for the fiber. Eating enough to help digestion is one thing. The quantity that Patch ate was quite extreme. I'm still surprised that he lived long enough to die of old age,

I have to ask John, since you know more Cougars than I do, do the Cougars you know, when they're laying down, keep the tip of their tail turned up like a little periscope as I see Sandusky doing in Wednesdays comic? I'm getting better at noticing those little things.

They often flick their tails up like that when something catches their attention, but, for the most part, their tails remain on the ground. I suppose it's one of Sandusky's little quirks. When he's asleep, his tail is fully on the ground (or hanging off of a ledge), but he does tend to hold the tip up when he's awake. For me, I suppose it's just more artistically interesting to have the tip up like that. Plus, Sandusky just wants to be sure it fits completely within the frame.

OK, I had noticed it in the past, but this was the first comic where it's in all 4 frames. Sandusky is a quirky character, that's why we love him. ;D It's cool how you get to observe and interact with Cougars and incorporate those observations into the comic. For me, I suppose it's just more artistically interesting to have the tip up like that. Plus, Sandusky just wants to be sure it fits completely within the frame. I've seen a cat gets its tail caught in the door before, I can't imagine what it would feel like to get it caught in the frame. Don't leave that 4th wall too far open, don't want them getting out.

Garden hose: 58 Sandusky: 0
Our two cats liked to bat at the Lawn sprinkler when I was little, but they never really messed with it. We never used the sprinkler very often though. With Sandusky, I can certainly see this happening.
I would think that John would at least tape up the hose a bit before buying a new one.

Yeah, or else it sounds like Sandusky is running Scott's wallet dry by doing so. I mean, that's pretty impressive that Dusker has managed to keep a department in business at Home Depo, don't you think? Plus, I wouldn't like the idea of living in an apartment complex again.

It's amazing how my random thoughts can keep coming back to Sandusky. I was going by the Wal-Mart I used to work at to do some shopping. I was going in the back way and took a glance at the fenced in holding pond for rainwater. It is invested with prairie dogs and I was musing how I wish I could plink at them with my suppressed 22/45. I then thought perhaps one could put some cats inside the fence to take care of them. Then my mind went in the obvious direction. Perhaps Scott could hire Sandusky out as an environmentally friendly gopher extermination service. Though it might end up like the efforts in Caddyshack. Don't know how much of a problem prairie dogs are down in Arizona. Sorry, I just can't help myself from posting story ideas.

I just blew a breaker in the house in a rather spectacular fashion and realized that it is much better for Sandusky to be chewing on garden hoses then electrical wires.
