Who is your favorite character from the strip? Personally, I like Bunker the best with Kashmir as a very close 2nd fave. I'm a big Bunker fan due to my whole cartoon dog obsession and I love his sarcastic sense of humor.

I'm not going to vote on my own comic strip characters. It'd be like voting on your favorite child. However, I will be interested to see the results (assuming more than two people cast votes). If I had to cast a vote, I might vote for catnip as my favorite "character". While it's obviously not a real character, I really enjoy writing stories where I am not bound by reality.

I've been thinking about this for a long time. Favorite character was easy, Sandusky. Then I got to thinking about second favorite character and that is where it became difficult. After much thinking it came down to Sierra. I think she is well characterized. She is smart without being a know-it-all tough talking action girl, a cliche that ruins many video games and comics IMHO. Cautious and at times timid, yet takes the initiative once she gets a grasp of the situation. She has her good behavior and bad behavior moments ("These are not the pets you are looking for" strip for example.) Her "performance" in "The Puma" really brings this out I think. About the only character that John hasn't characterized that well IMHO is Dickens. He's evil because................he's evil. Not saying you have to give his life's story, just a little more background on him as a character would be nice next time Sandusky and crew run over into him. Not that big of a deal though and it really doesn't hurt the comic. Figured this would be a good place to bring it up. If I had to cast a vote, I might vote for catnip as my favorite "character". While it's obviously not a real character, I really enjoy writing stories where I am not bound by reality. Agreed. It opens up quite a few possibilities. You also don't overuse it in the comic to the point where it becomes boring and cliche. It's like cinnamon, a little bit makes something that is great even better, but eating it straight from the jar tastes horrible.

Augh, this poll was hard since I'm a big cat fan to the extreme, and thus our loveable, ditzy protagonist should be an obvious choice - but I'm practically equally infatuated with Kashmir, and Sierra's personality makes me swoon over her. Granted, there's also Sedona, but I've seen a little too little of her to make up my mind. Ultimately I picked Kashmir, after plenty of deliberation, to give him some chance against Dusker and to avoid the non-feline of the three no matter how well she would fit the bill otherwise.
