it dosent' matter too much. I'd like to try having more to say myself, but I like to have a good, valid response if i want to say something. Do you know what? I absolutely love how many random thoughts and ideas bounce around this forum. I relish in the random. Who knows? Sandusky could be transformed into a germ-o-phobic if, in fact, Kashmir has something up his sleeve. or maybe Dusker could have nightmares about scorpions carrying lethal viruses.

Heh, for once in his life Sandusky moved faster than Kashmir. Don't be so hard on Sandusky Kashmir. You brought him into this situation with absolutely no foreknowledge of what was going on. How was Sandusky supposed to know Achilles was all better and not contagious anymore? You should have told him first thing. I find his actions perfectly reasonable for a cat. (Aside from grabbing a movie poster for protection from disease. ) I mean, who wants to get poked in the butt with a thermometer. I'd be paranoid about getting sick too if that happened every time I was ill. So, now that we have all of that hammered out, I wonder if we are going to hear more of Achilles backstory or if the trio are going to head outside, if Achilles is allowed to, to check out the other things that are there.

Agreed. Its quite enjoyable to read. Sandusky tends to get easily worked up, Achilles is completely mellow. I'm starting to wonder if he isn't a French-Canadian Cougar? If I read his dialog in the Quebeckian accent I have run across when I was working in retail it kinda fits the dialog. Either that or a "far north" Canadian accent fits as well. Not sure if he would be from Quebec, that would be a long way for them to transport him as a cub, though certainly possible. Don't have a whole lot of dialog from Achilles to go by yet though so I could be completely wrong.

Ahhhhh, poor Sandusky... I just want to take him out from behind that poster and hold like a little baby to comfort him.... But then again, he's just too gosh darn cute the way he cowers like that in the last frame. Plus, I just had the most insanely random thought come across my mind right now: Just how bizarrely colorful a cheetah with chicken pox would look like?

But then again, he's just too gosh darn cute the way he cowers like that in the last frame. Good to see I'm not the only one who feels that way. Weapons grade cuteness right there. The problem is that Sandusky seems to be very particular about when he is and isn't petted/snuggled with. Plenty of cats I've run across that are like that. Some will struggle a bit when you first try to pick them up into your lap, but then they settle down and snuggle in after a moment. Don't know if Sandusky is like that, it would be kinda hard to hold onto him long enough to find out. With Sandusky I'd still try it if I was wearing some old clothing and didn't have to be anywhere immediately. Sometimes just because it's a bad idea doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Scott has done it, why not me. ;D That's an........interesting idea. My guess is he would look like a lump under a pile of quilts with his nose sticking out.

I remember a funny quote from Betty White when she was on Malcom in the Middle. "I don't get mad dear, I'm Canadian" That kind of reminds me of Achilles

Awwww, poor Achilles I bet he is scared to go outside from his experience with a car as a cub. Looks like Achilles is 100% indoor cat. I wonder how afraid of the outside he really is. Will his mellow attitude survive the effort to get him outside? John is just pouring on the cuteness here. Now I want to give poor Achilles a hug in that last frame. Sorry Achilles, you're probably going to thing that Kashmir and Sandusky are being extremely mean to you by trying to get you outside, but they are only trying to help you out.

Hmmm....I think I may know why he says there are things outside that can hurt him. Can't wait till Friday to see if I'm right.

Ah, looks like Achilles doesn't trust doctors and is now afraid to go outside.
Though I'm kind of wondering. Achilles said a few strips ago that he was feeling much better, but now he is saying that he doesn't feel any different? Perhaps he got over the illness and the doc just kept him inside for a little longer just to make sure that he was back to 100%.
Easy solution, get Achilles some olives and then drag him outside when he goes to sleep. ;D

But then again, considering that he just over a potentially life-threatening virus and lost his leg, can't we just cut the poor fellow some slack? Besides, if I was feeling like that, I think I would settle for the old fashioned hug and a few pats on the back sort of thing in a situation like that.

Achilles was being somewhat facetious with the "I'm feeling much better now" comment. Unfortunately, it's tough to make it come across that way in a comic strip. He was basically goofing on Sandusky, because Sandusky was being such a scaredy cat. Now, however, the tables are turned. To clear up those contradictory lines even further (which I may or may not do to this extent in the strip), Achilles has been recovering from the virus for quite some time. He does indeed feel much better than he did when he was truly sick. However, the vet needed him to wait until his white blood cell count was back up to normal levels before allowing him to go outside. Achilles would have felt just fine during this time period, but he would have still been susceptible to a host of things outside that could have easily made him sick. I hope that clears things up a bit for you. The delivery I was going for with the "I'm feeling much better now" line was similar to the one given by John Astin as Buddy Ryan on the show "Night Court". Unfortunately, I can't find any audio or video of it on the Internet. John Astin played Gomez Addams on "The Addams Family", if that helps give you an idea of his delivery style.

Can't we just cut the poor fellow some slack? I said it was the "easy" solution. I never said it was the "nice" solution. I would certainly hope Sandusky wouldn't be that mean. I hope that clears things up a bit for you. It does. I knew I was probably overanalyzing the situation, but figured it best to ask question rather than let something slip by. The delivery I was going for with the "I'm feeling much better now" line was similar to the one given by John Astin as Buddy Ryan on the show "Night Court". I was thinking it more along the lines of the "Dead Collector" skit in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. ;D
